Harefield No4

Situated in South Harefield being bordered by the Grand Union Canal and the River Frays, Pit 4 is a gravel pit of 14 acres surrounded by mature woodland.

Access is through the Dellside gate and you will find ample parking on hardstanding ground behind many of the swims. There are further swims away from the car parks with a maximum of a 500 meter walk.

This beautiful pit is steeped in angling history and has been visited by many of the names over the years, featuring in numerous publications, both written and online content.

The lake holds a good head of fish with specimen size carp up to 45lb as well as double figured tench and bream, big eels, pike, perch, roach and chub. With varying depths from 3ft to 15ft the topography of the lake is an anglers dream with bars, plateaux and silty gullies as well as plenty of waterside cover for the fish to hide away in.

As a new water on the H.A.S. portfolio we will monitor catch reports and assess further stocking plans over the coming seasons.
