Harrow Angling Society Covid update- 10th January 2021

When the Government announced the latest Covid 19 restrictions, fishing was not permitted and the Committee closed all HAS waters at short notice.
The Angling Trust have been in discussions with the Government and fishing is now allowed, but only from dawn to dusk and only in your 'local' area. Remember that the Government consider fishing is part of your daily exercise.
After considering all the restrictions put in place that allow waters to open (both Government and our Landlords) the Committee have decided that ALL WATERS WILL STAY CLOSED until the end of February 2021, or until the Government, Angling Trust and our Landlords relax the fishing restrictions
on our waters. The restriction that is of most concern is the definition of 'local' as it places unfair restrictions on our members.
To counter for the loss of your fishing we have decided to bring forward the 'closed season' on all lakes. This will mean we will be able to fish continuously on all lakes post lockdown through to early 2022. As always there might be times when fish are spawning or we have some working party work to undertake that will require us to shut the lakes for a few days.
The Committee will continue to review the position and keep members advised via email, facebook page or the HAS website.
The Committee would like it to be known they did not take this decision lightly and understand it may well divide opinion. However when this Virus is brought back under control we will be in a position to open the lakes safely and without the need to rest our waters later in the year.

Thank you for your support and keep safe.

The Committee
